Description

Xigduo XR is an oral extended release tablet consisting of two antidiabetic drugs called dapagliflozin and metformin. We carry the brand choice of this medication in 5mg/1000mg, 10mg/500mg, and 10mg/1000mg!

Xigduo XR is prescribed to control blood sugar levels in those with diabetes type 2, often times aided with diet and exercise. Normally, when we eat food and our blood sugar rises, our pancreas will produce insulin, which turns the sugar into energy for our body to use later. In people with diabetes type 2, they either cannot make enough insulin or their body does not know how to use it properly. If this condition goes untreated for too long, complications such as kidney damage, dialysis, eye damage leading to permanent vision loss, or an increased risk for heart disease or stroke can occur.

Xigduo XR (dapagliflozin and metformin) is effective at controlling blood sugar levels because dapagliflozin is able to remove sugar from the blood stream while metformin reduces the sugar production in the liver while also reducing sugar absorption in the intestines.
