Tribenzor (olmesartan/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide) is prescribed to treat hypertension. Hypertension is another word for high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the force of the blood against the walls of your blood vessels and when that force is high, it causes your heart to have to work harder, which can cause damage. A big factor in high blood pressure is narrow blood vessels; when blood vessels are narrow, less blood can flow through, which makes blood flow less smoothly. If hypertension goes untreated for too long, a person risks health conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems.
Tribenzor (olmesartan/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide) is effective at treating high blood pressure because of its 3 abilities made possible by the active ingredients. First, it is able to prevent the body from taking in too much salt which can cause fluid retention, a leading reason of hypertension (hydrochlorothiazide). It helps keep the blood vessels from becoming narrow, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow (olmesartan). Finally, this medication is able to widen blood vessels by relaxing them, which also helps with blood flow (amlodipine).

This medication is generally used to treat high blood pressure. It contains three different drugs combined into one. Olmesartan, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide are the main active ingredients within this medication. Olmesartan is what is called an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), while amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. They both work to relax the blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is what is referred to as a "water pill," and it causes your body to rid itself of any extra salt and water by creating more urine. This medication comes in six various strengths which are 20mg/5mg/12.5mg, 40mg/5mg/12.5mg, 40mg/10mg/12.5mg, 40mg/10mg/25, 40mg/10mg/25mg, and 40mg/5mg/25mg.
