Description

What is Temovate used for?

Temovate is prescribed to help relieve itching, redness, and swelling due to different skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. It can also be used to treat itchy bug bites or stings, and painful rashes from poison ivy.

You can buy Temovate Cream online at My Drug Center. We currently do not have the Temovate Cream generic alternative available for purchase.

How does Temovate work?

Temovate is a topical steroid medication containing the active ingredient Clobetasol Propionate. Topical steroids are grouped into classes by strength, Class 7 being the mildest and Class 1 the strongest. Clobetasol is a Class 1 topical steroid; as such it is an extremely potent corticosteroid.

When applied as directed, the Clobetasol Propionate dosage in the cream is absorbed into the skin and interferes with the production or inflammatory chemicals the immune system has signaled to locate the treat or injury. Inflammation is your body’s way of healing, but it can be self perpetuating as inflammation can cause more inflammation.

Before using Temovate Cream, read all the instructions and paper work that are given to you by your pharmacist. Apply a thin layer of this medication onto affected areas and rub it in gently, and only apply it to the rash. Make sure you use it at the same time each day to create a routine for yourself and to ensure an even spread of the Clobetasol Propionate dosage in your system. This medication should be used on a regular basis to have optimal results. The Temovate Cream dosage that you take will depend on your condition and your age.

Do not use Temovate Cream more often than prescribed, or use more medication than is recommended per dose. Doing so won't clear up your rash any faster, but it does raise the chance of developing side effects.

Avoid getting the medicine in your mouth, eyes, or eyelids, or on healthy skin areas. If this happens, rinse the area right away with water.  It's important to wash your hands thoroughly after handling this medication, because it's possible you can transfer it to other areas of your body (like your face) or to others, especially young children.
