What is Rapaflo (Silodosin) prescribed for?

This medication is used by men to treat various symptoms of an enlarged prostate. And while it does not shrink the prostate, it does help to relieve symptoms by working to relaxing the muscles in the prostate and the bladder. Taking this medication curves the symptoms which also include the urgency to urinate, especially in the middle of the night. Silodosin belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha blockers.

This medication is taken by mouth, usually with a meal.

How long does Rapaflo stay in your system?

Raoaflo has a half life of 13.3 hours, and since this medication does have a long half life it may take awhile before it full leaves your system. It is difficult to predict this due to the influence of many factors such as age, metabolism, state of health and frequency and dose of the drug itself.

How long does it take Rapaflo to work?

This medication takes about 2 and a half weeks before you begin to feel the full effect.

What are the side effects of the drug Rapaflo?

Some of the more common side effects for this medication are listed as follows; Dizziness, weakness, headache, insomnia, diarrhea, stomach pain, and decreased amount of semen released during sex, abnormal ejaculation, runny or stuffy nose, or a sore throat.
